Robert Bindschadler and Michael Studinger of UMBC’s Goddard Earth Sciences and Technology (GEST) center are both quoted in a story on changing glaciers appearing in the March 26 issue of ScienceNews.
The story was published online as Studinger prepared for departure on March 14 to Greenland to monitor Arctic ice as part of NASA’s 2011 Operation IceBridge.
Since 2009, Operation IceBridge has flown annual campaigns over the Arctic starting in March and over Antarctica starting in October.
