The Office of Off-Campus Student Services invites you and members of your department to participate in the annual celebration of “Jest for Fun, for a cuase: Commuter Carnival,” Wednesday, May 4, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in The Commons Quad.
Jest for Fun is a popular community-building event. The program provides information and assistance to students living off-campus and all students in transition. The event features a community service project, housing fair, transportation information, campuse service, food, fun and entertainment. The entire campus is invited to attend!
Here is how your department can get involved:
Donate to the school supplies collection drive
As part of the “Good Neighbor” campaign, we will collect items for donation to Riverview Elementary School in Lansdowne, through Wednesday, May 4. Riverview Elementary is one of Baltimore County’s most economically disadvantaged schools with over 80% of students coming from low-income families. The school has requested the following items: pencils, zipper pencil cases, backpacks, pocket folders with brackets, hand sanitizer, tissues, Ziploc bags, dividers, crayons, scissors, flash cards and umbrellas. Collection boxes are located on the first floor of the Administration Building, in The Commons near the Information Desk and at other locations around campus.
Set up an information table at the Campus Resource Fair on May 4, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
This will be a great opportunity to let students know (or refresh their memory) about the array of services available at UMBC.
Post, distribute, announce and attend
Whether you want to provide information about new or existing programs, or just want to connect with new and returning students, we welcome your participation! Call ext. 5-2770 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. All events are free and open to al members of the campus community.
