President Freeman Hrabowski received the 2011 TIAA-CREF Theodore M. Hesburgh Award for Leadership Excellence in recognition of visionary leadership in higher education. The Baltimore Sun article, “Hrabowski Wins $20,000 Award,” appeared March 7.
The Sun Herald reports, “Hrabowski was selected by an independent panel of judges based largely on his work to increase the representation of minority students in science and engineering and create an institutional model of inclusive excellence.”
