Erickson School Dean Judah Ronch’s recent presentation on “activist aging” in Anne Arundel County has been featured in the Annapolis daily paper The Capital. “Baby Boomers Need Creative Solutions” describes Ronch’s approach as encouraging elders to take “a more active role in one’s aging process.”
“Older people are a real resource,” said Ronch, reflecting on elders’ unique perspectives and their abilities to “take charge of [their] own aging.” The article highlighted Anne Arundel Community College students who have gone on to complete their studies in the management of aging services at UMBC’s Erickson School and the development of self-sufficiency-based Green House Residences at Stadium Place in Baltimore.
