University Health Services Awarded Three-Year Term of Accreditation

From Jennifer K. Lepus, Director, University Health Services

University Health Services has been informed that the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC) Accreditation Committee has awarded University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC)’s University Health Services a three-year term of accreditation, the highest award that can be achieved.

I am so proud of the staff of University Health Services who put in countless hours to prepare for this endeavor, while still maintaining their usual high quality patient care. With that being said, UHS couldn’t have done it alone. We want to say thank you to several individuals for their help and support with this process:

Jennifer Berkman, Director of Student Health Services, Salisbury University
Mary Tola, Director of Student Health Servcies, Frostburg State University
Nancy West, Former Director of UHS, UMBC
Kim Leisey, Assoc. VP of Student Affairs, UMBC
Nancy Young, VP of Student Affairs, UMBC

In addition, multiple departments on campus such as the Office of Residential Life, the Environmental Health and Safety Team, the Facilities Management staff and so many others provided endless support in our request for many items needed to meet the high number of standards in the accreditation process. Again, thank you.
