President Freeman Hrabowski spoke at a January 3 forum exploring strategies for preparing Maryland students so they can meet the state’s future needs in science, math and technology. “You cannot wait tables 30 hours on the outside and do biochemistry,” Hrawbowski said, according to a story in the Gazette (“Science, technology jobs rule day at Maryland education panel.” )
The forum at Bowie State University was the second of five that are part of Governor Martin O’Malley’s “Maryland Forward” series.
