Christopher Hewitt, sociology professor emeritus and expert on terrorism and counterterrorism, provided insight to Patch.com in their coverage of the arrest of domestic terrorism suspect Antonio Martinez. The 21-year-old Baltimore-area man is accused of plotting to bomb an armed services recruiting center in Catonsville. Hewitt recently conducted a study of 80 cases of domestic terrorism “preventions” reported by the FBI since 9/11. He commented that Martinez has many apparent characteristics of these young, male “lone wolf” terrorists.
The article, “‘We Were Born in Order to Die’,” appeared December 9 on Catonsville Patch.
