Jamie Gurganus, a graduate student and staff member in the mechanical engineering department, was quoted in a story about an opening round of the FIRST Lego League of Maryland’s annual competition.
The competition is designed to spark interest in science, technology and engineering among children between the ages of 9 and 14. The state competition will be held February 26, 2011, at UMBC.
“Kids relate to it really well,” Gurganus said. “Who doesn’t love Legos?”
The article, “Students Compete With Robots Built of Legos,” appeared December 5 in the Baltimore Sun.
