Thomas Schaller, Political Science, Reflects on Election and Nation’s Priorities

In “The Democrat’s Fab Four, Revisited,” a December 2 column on the noted non-partisan political website Sabato’s Crystal Ball, UMBC Associate Professor of Political Science Thomas Schaller argues that the quartet of Colorado, New Hampshire, Ohio and Virginia “has emerged as a purple battleground over which the two major parties have recently fought for political supremacy and, by extension, majority status nationally.”

For more of Schaller’s recent writing on political issues, check out his regular Baltimore Sun column. The most recent installment, “A Backward-Looking Nation” argues, “If federal spending reveals a nation’s priorities, America is a country far less invested in its future than it is fixated upon and indebted to its past.”
