Faculty and staff, with supervisor or chair approval, are eligible to apply for the UMBC Relationship Violence Prevention Advocates program, a network of volunteer UMBC community members who are able to provide relationship, dating and intimate partner violence prevention information to their community networks; encourage bystander intervention techniques within their UMBC community network; make appropriate referrals; provide helpful resource information to UMBC community network and individuals; and support speaker and poster series and other campus initiatives to prevent violence.
Training will take place all day Monday, January 24. Advocates must also attend weekly Friday meetings at noon January 28-March 18 and bi-weekly meetings April 1-May 6.
