Known for his research into the history of communities such as Catonsville and Arbutus, as well as his ability to inspire his students, Ed Orser, professor emeritus of American studies, enjoyed a November 11 retirement party on campus with about 150 colleagues, former students, family members and friends.
“I think that students want to be engaged, they bring insight, wisdom to the classroom and I know that I’ve grown and I’ve benefited from that and I think it’s made me a stronger teacher from it,” Orser said.
The article, “UMBC teacher with long history in Catonsville and Arbutus retires,” appeared November 17 in the Catonsville Times.
