Marybeth Gasman of the Chronicle of Higher Education attended a symposium entitled, “Beyond Stock Stories and Folktales: African Americans and the Pipeline to the Professoriate: An Evidence-based Examination of STEM Fields.” She discusses UMBC’s efforts to increase the number of underrepresented minorities in STEM education.
