Social Security Administration Commissioner Michael J. Astrue will hold the sixth Compassionate Allowances Outreach public hearing on cardiovascular disease and multiple organ transplants in UMBC’s University Center Ballroom, Tuesday, November 9, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. A live webcast will be provided at 9 a.m.
Social Security provides benefits to applicants whose serious medical conditions meet disability standards. Compassionate allowances are a way to rapidly identify qualifying medical conditions based on minimal objective medical information and to quickly assist the most disabled individuals.
For details, see www.socialsecurity.gov/compassionateallowances. A full agenda and simulcast link will be posted next week.
