Levi Houapeu ’11 Nominated for 2010 Soccer Fans’ Choice Player of the Year

Forward Levi Houapeu ’11 is among nine players nominated for the 2010 America East Men’s Soccer Fans’ Choice Player of the Year. Fans may vote for Levi at www.americaeast.com/quest/Questionaire.dbml?&QID=91719&DB_OEM_ID=14000.

Houapeu is having another stellar season for the Retrievers. He leads the team and the America East Conference with nine goals and 21 points. Earlier in the season, he became the 11th player in school history to amass 25 career goals. The 2009 America East Midfielder of the Year has 74 career points (28-18-74) and has moved into eighth place on UMBC’s all-time scoring list. The nation’s leading scorer in 2009 was ranked in several NCAA statistical categories entering play this week, including points per game (23rd, 1.5), total points (20th), goals per game (0.64, 17th) and total goals (17th).

Voting will continue through Monday, November 1, with the winner being announced Tuesday, November 2, via a release on AmericaEast.com.
