According to analysts, women voters in Maryland overwhelmingly favor Governor Martin O’Malley against former Governor Bob Ehrlich in next week’s election. “Women are much more open to the idea of an active social welfare state, to which men are much more hostile,” said Laura Hussey, assistant professor of political science. “Social welfare is at the front and center of this campaign.”
