Midfielder Andrew Bulls ’12 was named America East Men’s Soccer Co-Player of the Week for games ending October 24. Bulls also earned a spot on College Soccer News’ Team of the Week.
In both games last week, Bulls scored the first goal as UMBC posted a 2-1 overtime win at No. 23 Penn State on Wednesday, October 20, and blanked America East rival Hartford 3-0 at UMBC Stadium on Saturday, October 23. He put in his own rebound on a breakaway in the 22nd minute against the Nittany Lions and tallied on the end of a two-on-one against the Hawks in the 12th minute.
Bulls has 12 assists on the season, surpassing the 11 he accumulated in 2009. He becomes the first player in school history to record 25 goals and 25 assists, and his 77 points are now tied for seventh on the UMBC all-time scoring list.
Bulls leads the America East Conference in assists and is second (18) in points to teammate Levi Houapeu (21).
