According to a report by the Committee of Underrepresented Groups and the Expansion of the Science and Engineering Workforce Pipeline, chaired by President Freeman Hrabowski, underrepresented minorities (African-Americans, Hispanics and Native Americans) make up 28.5 percent of the U.S. population but only 9.1 percent of college-educated Americans in the science and engineering fields.
“All of us have to look in the mirror,” said Hrabowski, “All of us can do a much better job.”
