Kevin Carey, policy director for Education Sector, a Washington-based think tank, visited UMBC recently and wrote about his experience for the Chronicle of Higher Education. While touring the campus with President Freeman Hrabowski, Carey observed students in classes and met faculty. He praised the university’s programs that promote innovative teaching and a focus on learning.
