Archivists and curators from UMBC, College Park and the Library of Congress will discuss the importance of visual literacy, image-based research methods and the scholarly potential held in photographs, illustrations and postcards on Monday, October 18, 10-11:30 a.m. in the Abin O. Kuhn Library Gallery.
The panel, which takes place in conjunction with American Archives Month, will include Tom Beck, chief curator of the Albin O. Kuhn Library and Gallery at UMBC; Joanne Archer and Doug McElrath of the Special Collections at University of Maryland, College Park; and Barbara Orbach Natanson of the Prints and Photographs Division at the Library of Congress.
Faculty, staff, graduate students and interested undergraduates are encouraged to attend. Registration for UMBC attendees is required. Additional information is available on the event webpage.
