Baltimore City State’s Attorney Patricia C. Jessamy has launched a new Facebook page to highlight her office’s work. She is running for re election, although she has a separate page for her campaign.
The Baltimore Sun notes that, although the page is used to spread news of Jessamy’s office’s accomplishments, it does not allow comments.
Zeynep Tufekci, assistant professor of sociology, said “What’s the point of having a social media site if you’re not getting social?” and said that disabling the comment on the site “defeats the purpose” of having a social networking site.
