I am pleased to announce the appointment of Carl (Rusty) Postlewate as assistant vice president for Facilities Management, effective September 1.
Mr. Postlewate was selected through a nationwide search with a candidate pool in excess of 130. He brings over 30 years of experience and proven leadership skills in facilities management, currently serving as director of the Physical Plant at the University of Southern Mississippi.
His background includes 18 years with the Corps of Engineers in various facilities management positions in the U.S. and abroad and the last 10 years in senior level facilities management positions in higher education.
He earned his bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering from the University of Arkansas and a Masters degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California. He is also a registered professional engineer.
I know that Rusty will be a valuable addition to our team. Join me in giving him a warm welcome to UMBC.
