The Center for History Education (CHE) was featured in the Baltimore Sun’s Education Supplement as a new program that is “dramatically changing the way students learn and teachers teach.” Dan Ritschel, director of CHE, said, “Since 2001, we have received seven Teaching American History grants from the U.S. Department of Education … each one of which is close to $1 million.” CHE has used three of these grants in Baltimore County, two in Anne Arundel County and one each in Howard County and Baltimore City.
