Support for Haiti

Fr: Freeman Hrabowski, President; Elliot Hirshman, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs; Nancy Young, Vice President, Student Affairs

In the wake of the devastating earthquake in Haiti, we want to extend our deepest sympathies and our support to the people of Haiti and all those whose lives are affected by the crisis there.

As we begin the spring semester, many of you have asked what UMBC is doing to support Haiti. Currently, students from a number of our campus organizations are working together to organize events that will be promoted through myUMBC and the homepage.

Suggestions on how to donate and how to locate U.S. citizens traveling in Haiti are available here. We encourage you to contribute only through known, trusted organizations.

Support through University Counseling Services is available for anyone in need (Student Development Success Center, between Chesapeake and Susquehanna Halls, ext. 5-2472).

We know you join us in keeping the people of Haiti in our thoughts and prayers.

We will share information about upcoming events with you when they are confirmed.
