Service-Learning Fair (2/5)

UMBC faculty and staff who are interested in working with community programs are invited to attend The Shriver Center’s 2nd Annual Service-Learning Fair on Friday, February 5, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at The Commons, Main Street.

More than 25 community partners and schools will be on hand, offering you the chance to meet one-on-one with their representatives and and learn more about their programs. This is a great opportunity to network and connect with local programs that you may be interested in working with for your classes and programs.

Be sure to share this opportunity with students in your classes and programs who may be looking to get involved in service this spring semester.

At the fair, students can:

– Meet one-on-one with more than 25 community partners and schools to select a service site that matches their skills, talents and interests. (Some of these partners include Baltimore Urban Debate League, the SEED School of Maryland, the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter, Inc. (BARCS) and Project HEALTH, etc.)
– Learn about the service-learning program and The Shriver Center
– Find out how to earn academic credit and transcript notation for service
– Register on-site for service-learning placements
– Meet some animals in need of adoption brought by BARCS!
