Francophone Voices of the ‘New’ Morocco in Film and Print (2/11)

Join Valerie K. Orlando, associate professor of French and Francophone Literatures and Cultures from the University of Maryland, as she explores the changes taking place in Moroccan society under King Mohamed VI through literature, journalism and film. The works she presents bear witness to the transitions from traditionalism to modernity that Moroccans are currently experiencing in areas such as human rights, women’s roles and sexuality and gender.

"Francophone Voices of the ‘New’ Morocco in Film and Print: (Re) presenting a Society in Transition" is part of the Humanities Forum and will be Thursday, February 11, 4 p.m., in the Library Gallery.

Sponsors for this event include: Department of Modern Languages and Linguistics and Intercultural Communication (MLLI) with support from the Dresher Center for the Humanities.
