Adrienne Mercer to Leave UMBC

Adrienne Mercer is leaving UMBC to pursue new professional and educational goals. Since 2001, Mercer has served the campus as the director of human relations, the ADA coordinator and the director of the Center for Mediation and Conflict Resolution. Under Mercer’s leadership, the Office of Human Relations has instituted the successful roll out and continuation of the  Sexual Harassment Prevention Training program and the establishment of the Center for Mediation and Conflict Resolution. Mercer has been instrumental in successfully mediating individual and group interpersonal conflicts and in coaching many units and individual managers in group communication, fair employment practices and leadership development.

Throughout her tenure, Mercer has shown a commitment to fair treatment and objective assessment in the many human relations matters that arise in a community of more than 15,000 people.
