Former Governor Robert Ehrlich, Jr. joined a crowd of several hundred anti-tax “Tea Party” protesters in Lawyer’s Mall, a courtyard outside the Governor’s Mansion, after the Maryland General Assembly opened its legislative session on Wednesday, January 13. Donald Norris, chair and professor of public policy, said, "It is the far right portion of the far right, so [Ehrlich] is appealing to his base. I don’t see any way that this helps him with the rest of Maryland. Maryland is a very blue state. People who think and reason will see through this for what is it. Naked partisanship."
One article, “‘Tea Party’ protesters rally against taxes in Annapolis,” ran Wednesday, January 13, in the Baltimore Sun. A related article, “Tax protesters rally outside Governor’s Mansion” ran in the Baltimore Sun again on Thursday, January 14.
