Biological Scientists Published in Life Sciences Education

Steven Caruso, senior lecturer of biological sciences; James Sandoz, senior lecturer of biological sciences; and Jessica Kelsey, Ph.D. were published in the American Society for Cell Biology’s CBE Life Sciences Education journal. They were featured in the winter 2009 issue for their essay, “Non-STEM Undergraduates Becoming Enthusiastic Phage-Hunters.” The essay discusses a course offered to 20 non-STEM undergraduates for a two-semester research experience in which each student isolated and characterized his or her own bacteriophage from soil samples.
