myUMBC Wants Your Feedback on New Event Calendar and More

The myUMBC team is excited to announce the start of testing for the 0.2.0 release of myUMBC 3. Visit the site and be sure to try the new system out as much as you can and let the team know if you have problems or suggestions.

IMPORTANT: This is a test release so any content created will be erased when the testing is completed.

This release features many great new features that we’d love for you to try out and let us know what you think:

Event Calendar
– Look at day, week and month views of events.
– Filter events by type, topic, audience and tags.
– Post your events immediately; no more five-day wait.
– Attach files and thumbnails to your events so they stand out.
– View event series – several events that can be edited separately but are linked. When looking at the details of an event, future events in the series are shown as well.
– Leave comments on events. You can edit or remove your comment if you make a mistake.
– Paw events that you like. The most pawpular events show on the myUMBC home page.
– Use RSS, iCal and XML feeds of events so you can get your events outside of myUMBC.

User Avatars
– Upload your own images and crop custom avatars
– Choose from some stylish stock avatars

Spotlight Archive
– Pull up spotlights that have run in the past

We plan to replace the current events calendar on myUMBC with this new calendar for the start of the spring semester.
