UMBC’s campus has been recognized as one of the most diverse in the nation, and international students contribute greatly to that diversity. However, there are also challenges associated with having non-native English speaking students in class. This workshop is designed to help UMBC faculty become more comfortable working with their non-native English speaking students. Tips and suggestions will be offered to increase faculty and student success. Additionally, on-campus resources for where students can get support will be given.
The workshop will be Wednesday, October 21, noon-1 p.m., in the Academic IV Building (B Wing), Room 461.
Register by October 19.
