Kevin “Kal” Kallaugher, Imaging Research Center, in The Gazette

Anyone can draw a “wrinkled-faced caricature of President George W. Bush,” according to Kevin “Kal” Kallaugher, artist-in-residence. The cartoonist was recently featured in Wheaton’s Gazette for his work with students at an area high school last week. He visited the school in order to discuss “US Democrazy,” a site he’s been working on that includes political cartoons and humorous blogs about daily news created by Kallaugher and his UMBC students. “To get students to read it, all content on the site will be in the spirit of political cartoons – funny, fun, short and digestible,” he said.

The article, “Interactive political Web site meant to spark high school students’ interest in current events,” ran in the print edition on September 23.
