Although every generation has a specific bond with the internet, older generations may have the most special one. A study by Liza Vizer ‘15, research assistant in the Department of Information Systems, indicates that boosted computer use in older generations could actually help determine whether individuals have early signs of dementia. “The first signs might be detectable using software that monitors telltale variations in an individual’s typing patterns,” said Vizer. “If the monitoring software should detect a typing pattern which indicates deterioration over a long period, it may suggest to the user to consider seeing a doctor.”
